On April 12, 2021, we accidentally sent a mass email to all registered users of our website informing them about a campaign, displaying their email address. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and concern this has caused to all registered users. We take this incident very seriously and will work to prevent a recurrence by further strengthening our internal education and management system regarding the handling of personal information and information security.

At approximately 3:41 PM on Monday, April 12, 2021, we discovered that an employee of ours had mistakenly entered the BCC address in the To field of a campaign notification email sent to our website subscribers. We became aware of this issue on April 12 after a subscriber who received the email pointed it out to us.

1. Response to registered users

As soon as the incident came to light, we sent emails to the recipients of the emails, apologizing and asking them to delete them. We have also contacted those who we were able to contact individually by phone to apologize and ask them to delete the emails. We promptly notified customers who contacted us of the details of the incident by email, and then contacted them by phone to provide them with details and apologize.

・738 email addresses (total of 3 emails sent)

・1st transmission 291 cases, 2nd transmission 290 cases, 3rd transmission 157 cases

3. Measures to prevent recurrence

We deeply regret causing this incident, and will take even greater care in handling personal information in the future, thoroughly educate our employees, and do our utmost to prevent a recurrence.
